WORDS OF GRATITUDE AND REDEDICATIONThe Armenian community of Toronto, which has flourished under the spiritual guidance of the Diocese of the Armenian Church in America, is celebrating with love and devotion the twentieth anniversary of the consecration of the Armenian Holy Trinity Church in Toronto. Some twenty years ago a small group of immigrants, uprooted from their ancestral homeland, found haven on these hospitable shores of Canada. They had both the vision and determination to establish an Armenian Apostolic Church to serve as a symbol of their national and spiritual identity and by which they could preserve the character of the Armenian national heritage for forthcoming generations.
Today this monument of our Armenian national faith is living testimony of the spirit of those uprooted who, despite great tragedy and tribulations, did not lose their zeal for their House of Faith. From the outset they considered love and dedication to the Armenian Church to be a unique and rare experience on which to organize their parochial life.
Our present generation today, with resolute devotion, is renewing their commitment and pledge to the national and spiritual heritage of their ancestors, which is to further the cause of the Armenian people and the Armenian Church, for the eternal glory of God.
